Description

Scarce pennant dating to the early 1960s Dallas Texans football team of the American Football League (AFL). Playing in the Cotton Bowl, the team, founded by Lamar Hunt, won a championship in 1962, their final season in Texas. The National Football League's (NFL) new team in Dallas - the Cowboys - caused fandom to be split and forced Hunt to relocate his team to Kansas City, where they rebranded as the Kansas City Chiefs. This pennant features moderate wrinkling as well as some light creasing and crazing to the lettering. Measuring 12 x 29.5 inches, it displays as Very Good overall, with two small pinholes (from display) visible in the top left corner and the far right tip of the pennant. A very presentable and desirable relic from the early days of the AFL! The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
