Description

The iconic Boston Celtics parquet floor originated in 1946 when lumber shortages from the war made long floorboards hard to find, so they arranged red oak blocks in an alternating checkerboard pattern. The floor moved from Boston Arena to the Boston Garden in 1952 and later transitioned to the Fleet Center (now TD Garden) until it wore too thin in 1999. The Celtics still use replica of the parquet pattern, but the original pieces of the retired floor were cut up and sold as collector’s items.

This 8 ½ x 4 chunk is signed by the one-and-only Larry Bird, whose number "33" hangs in the rafters. The bold black marker signature grades (“7-8”). Accompanied by Certificate from the Fleet Center.
