A couple of the best ballplayers of the 1990s got royal treatment with the issue of these (2) 1992 Topps/Highland Mint limited-edition pure silver baseball cards. The subjects are first ballot Hall of Famers Ken Griffey Jr. and Frank Thomas. Junior had three seasons of MLB play under his belt at the time, and the Bug Hurt was coming off his second season. Despite their brief time of MLB service, both superstars had already established themselves among the game's top players of the day by 1992.
Each of these precious metal baseball cards weighs in at 4.25 troy ounces of .999 fine silver. Housed in 1/2" thick Lucite bricks, these stately treasures replicate the designs of 1992 Topps baseball cards, with #50 Griffey Jr. and #555 Thomas. Accompanying are individual Highland Mint COAs, printed with Topps, MLB and Highland Mint logos. The Griffey COA is limited-edition numbered "48/1,000", and the Thomas COA is limited-edition numbered "41/1,000".
