Recall one of baseball’s all-time greatest hitters, with the examination of this 1950-1951 George Sisler post-career pro stock model bat. A career .340 hitter and prominent Hall of Famer, “Gorgeous George” was serving as a scout for the Brooklyn Dodgers at this time this bat was made, tutoring the likes of Jackie Robinson, “Duke” Snider and Carl Furillo. Graced with a great period authentic look, this mid-20th Century bat has a facsimile of Sisler’s signature burned into the barrel. The central H&B brand remains distinct and the upper handle is wrapped with black tape, which appears to covering a crack. Considerable signs of use are noted around the barrel, though the use can not be positively attributed to Sisler. All in all, this is an attractive bat with strong display appeal.
