Bill Grieve worked the American League from 1938 to 1955, umpiring 2,783 Major League games in his eighteen-year career, including three World Series and two All Star games. This toned Spalding “Official Pro League” ball signed by Bill Grieve (“3-4”) has two inscriptions. The inscription “Bill Grieve - Yonkers, NY – 1966” was penned in an unknown hand. The inscription “Best Wishes” was penned in the hand of Bill Grieve.
