Description

The 1989 World Series had a semi-somber celebration as the Oakland A's swept the Giants 4-0 in a Bay Area matchup that was interrupted by the Loma Prieta earthquake. It became known as the “Earthquake Series.” This duo was purchased in a previous auction with the claim of having been owned by Athletics slugger Ken Phelps. The same Phelps of Seinfeld fame, "What the hell did you trade Jay Buhner for?!.." - Frank Costanza.
