Graded VG 3 by PSA. The offered 1909-1911 T206 White Border Ray Demmitt (St. Louis) variation is a simple team modification that created a prized scarcity. Aside from the recognized "Big Four" (Doyle, Magie, Plank, Wagner) rarities, Demmitt belongs to the second wave of highly valued variations. The Polar Bear brand was the only ATC manufacturer to correctly place Demmitt as a member of the St. Louis Browns while the other brands continued to list him as a player for the New York Highlanders. This particular example presents on level with its overall grade by exhibiting evenly worn corners, scattered tobacco pouch stains, and minimally soiled edges. The tri-color front is vibrant and crease-free while the all-important back displays only limited tobacco discoloration.
