Description

Roundup some vintage Yankee stadium souvenirs, when you corral this selection of 1930-1944 New York Yankees press season passes. Imagine making your living attending Yankees games when Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Bill Dickey and a host of other great stars suited up in pinstripes. In part, such was the case for the bearers of these ancient passes. These passes are all made to staff members of the Gettelson Baseball Bureau, which was located in nearby Long Branch, NJ. Three passes dated 1930, 1934, and 1936 are made to Baseball Bureau founder Leonard Gettelson, an avid baseball historian, who compiled extensive records and statistics, while contributing to numerous publications. The fourth pass dated 1944 is made to Charles M. Getteson. All four passes are sturdy and attractive, though the 1930 pass has been trimmed on the sides, and the 1934 pass has a light crease at top-left. Especially interesting is the 1936 pass, from a World Series championship season, that saw the Yankees welcome rookie Joe DiMaggio.
