One of the most important comic books of the Bronze Age takes the stage, with the presentation of this 1975 Marvel Comics Giant-Size X-Men #1 issue. Creative work on the complex X-Men series came to a halt in 1970, with issue #66. Published between 1970-1975, issues #67-93 recycled earlier tales with reprinted stories, costing Marvel next to nothing for talent input.
A brilliant revival by writer Len Wein and artist Dave Cockrum arrived in 1975, with this Giant-Size #1 comic, which introduced a new team of mutant super-heroes. Under the leadership lone original X-Men holdover Cyclops, this new squad was comprised with Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler and Thunderbird, who all made their first appearance in the offered comic. To the lasting delight of faithful Marvelites, mega-popular anti-hero Wolverine joined in this historic revival, making his second appearance.
Few comics have introduced so many new high-profile characters all at once, making it easy to see why this prized issue enjoys such great demand from collectors. CGC has assigned this well-preserved Bronze Age treasure a highly favorable grade of 8.5, Off-White to White Pages. Label notes are "Len Wein story, Dave Cockrum art, Gil Kane & Dave Cockrum cover. 1st appearance of the new X-Men, Storm, Nightcrawler, Colossus & Thunderbird. 2nd full appearance of Wolverine.".
