Reap the fallout from the Hopalong Cassidy sensation, when you harvest this 1930s-1950s premium and ephemera collection (36). Spawned in literature, Hoppy grew into a multi-media, pop culture icon, thanks to dozens of big screen portrayals by actor William Boyd. A savvy businessman, Boyd also filled the role on radio, and in the early days of television, he cleverly risked all he had to acquire the rights to every one of his sixty-six Hopalong Cassidy films. NBC took a shot with one film and won big. Airing of all the Hopalong sagas quickly followed to the home viewing market, and ultimately Boyd created a new show, that became the first ever Western television series. All this success gave rise to a torrent of related merchandise, including the original period items populating this offering. Condition is generally pleasing and several items are reported as rare.
