Description

Effectiveness, endurance, guile, a fine sense of humor, and a great feel for showmanship were the traits that made Satchell Paige a Hall of Fame pitcher. Paige (d.1982) demonstrated a talent for penmanship as well, when provided a lucky fan with the crisp signature which he centered nicely on the offered 3x5 index card.
