Lot # 797: 1985 Ted Williams Signed Old Timers Day Batting Practice Baseball

An encore performance by the great Ted Williams is staged, with the presentation of this signed baseball. Notations from a fan state this OAL/MacPhail baseball was struck by Williams during batting practice at a 1985 Old-Timers Day game. Williams has signed on the sweet spot, with the fan’s notations written above and below his prized signature. A contact mark is seen on the ball’s south panel, and the entire surface has been coated with shellac. Though Williams’ signature is somewhat faded, it remains readily recognizable.
