Description

This 1979 Baltimore Orioles Road jersey #20 size 42 by Wilson Sporting Goods was issued to hitting coach Frank Robinson, who returned to Baltimore as a coach in 1978 after his stint as the game's first black manager in Cleveland. He helped the Orioles to an AL title that year. Robinson played for the Reds, Dodgers, Angels and Indians, but will likely always be remembered as an Oriole, where he won a Triple Crown, an MVP, two World Series titles and five All Star selections. His jersey is accompanied by a detailed LOA by Phil Wood who was a sports broadcaster in the Washington-Baltimore market. He reminisces about his acquaintance with the all-time great player and manager. The jersey shows the kind of wear associated with a coach’s uniform.
