Lot # 1195: 1984 Team USA Olympic Basketball Trials Multi-Signed Boarding Pass with Michael Jordan - PSA/DNA Authentic & Full JSA LOA

Olympic hopefuls are collected with this 1984 Team USA basketball trials multi-signed boarding pass. This period-signed pass was good for a seat on Eastern Airlines 4/16/84 Flight 315 to Indianapolis, as printed on the obverse. Located on the reverse are (5) distinct signatures, including three stars who made the gold medal-winning 1984 Team USA squad, and two players who were cut during the trials by head coach Bobby Knight. Featured subjects are: Team USA members Michael Jordan (HOF), Sam Perkins, and Vern Fleming; and cut players Johnny Dawkins, and Lorenzo Charles. Seventy players attended the trials, which were held on Knight's home turf at Indiana University Bloomington, and the date of the nicely preserved boarding is consistent with the April trials. The 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympics introduced Jordan to a worldwide audience, and his pre-NBA signature on this twice-certified boarding pass is a great historic treasure.
