Lot # 1107: 1956 Emlen Tunnell Signed and Dated Miller Brewing Co. Postcard

Football Hall of Famer Emlen "the Gremlin" Tunnell makes a run for your money, with this 1956 signed and dated Miller Brewing Co. postcard. Dating from circa 1954-1956, this real photo postcard touts the famed defender as "Halfback New York Giants" in a caption on the obverse, that includes the legend "Representing The Miller Brewing Co.". Tunnell (d.1975) has applied a personalized signature on the reverse, along with the inscription "N.Y. Giants 1956". After seventy years, all of Tunnell's writing remains distinct, and the card remains reasonably attractive, despite a small bit of extraneous paper/adhesive residue on the obverse at top-left.
