Description

A tough NFL star autograph is spotlighted, with the offering of this Brian Piccolo cut signature. Skipped over in the 1965 NFL and AFL drafts, Piccolo tried out for the Chicago Bears as a free agent. After a season on the taxi squad, the determined fullback began to get NFL playing time. Once on the field, Piccolo showed steady improvement, until he began having trouble breathing in 1969. Sadly, Piccolo succumbed to illness in 1970, at the relatively young age of twenty-six. Adhered to a 4” x 6” backer with a photograph clipping at top, Piccolo’s signature appears on an blue cut measuring 4” x 1-1/2”. Piccolo has accompanied his distinct signature with the inscription “#41”.
