Description

Fascinating vintage sweater dating to circa 1950s and attributed to the New York Military Academy. The NYMA is a private prep school located in New York's Hudson Valley founded in 1889. For more than a century, the school has been home to a variety of intercollegiate sports. While we cannot specifically tie this item to a sports team, it is constructed in a style that team members may have worn (akin to a letterman's sweater or jacket). Made from heavy wool, it is a very pleasing sweater, tied to a very old academic institution, that has survived in exceptional condition.
