Description

Quite the lineup of mid-20th Century Hall of Famers and fan favorites is found, with this multi-signed 1956 MLB All-Star Game program. Located throughout this handsome program, are (22) sharp signatures, with 50% being Hall of Famers. The National League came away 7-3 winners in this Mid Summer Classic, which was held on 7/10/56 at Griffith Stadium, in Washington, DC. Seen on the vibrant front cover is the signature of "Red" Auerbach's brother, Zang Auerbach, who is the artist responsible for the cover artwork. The (21) All-Stars who contributed autographs to this cause, have located their signatures on around their corresponding interior photographs. Featured in the order they appear are: 1947-1948 Senators All-Star Walt Masterson; 1956 All-Stars: "Duke" Snider (HOF), Clem Labine, Eddie Mathews (HOF), Warren Spahn (HOF), Robin Roberts (HOF), Bob Friend, who got the win in this game, "Yogi" Berra (HOF), Al Kaline (HOF), Mickey Vernon, George Kell (HOF), Roy Sievers, Chuck Stobbs, Pedro Ramos, Jimmy Piersall, Billy Pierce, "Whitey" Ford (HOF), Gil McDougald, Stan Musial (HOF) who hit a home run in the 7th inning; retired 9X All-Star Bobby Doerr (HOF); and still active 10X All-Star Enos Slaughter (HOF).
