Meet George Jetson and his Space Age family, when you score this 1963 Aladdin Industries The Jetsons dome top lunch box. A considerably tough acquisition, this colorful creations is adorned with illustrations of the Jetsons, with George, Jane his wife, his boy Elroy, daughter Judy, family pet Astro the Space Mutt, and maid Rosey the Robot. Multiple scenes are depicted, including the Jetsons' Orbit City apartment building, George's bubble top aerocar, Judy's school Orbit High, and more. Topped with a securely attached plastic handle, this metal lunchbox retains its pair of original fastening clasps on the front. The hinged lid opens to reveal the thermos retaining arm is at home in the lid section, though the thermos bottle is absent. Printed on the top, directly below the handle, is a 1963 Hanna-Barbera Productions copyright, and the underside is printed with the Aladdin Industries manufacturing credit. Moderate oxidation is noted on the clasps, retaining arm, and hinge bar. The colors are vibrant, with a pleasing degree of paint integrity. Overall wear is light to moderate, showing mainly on the edges and underside, as can be expected. Issued during the period when The Jetsons first aired Sunday nights on ABC, this scarce lunchbox is a satisfying example.
