Description

It's ironic that this $10 bill is a star note. Dated 1969B, this Federal Reserve note has a full face-to-back offset printing error. Star notes are issued to replace faulty notes, which are misprinted or damaged during the printing process. As they are scarce, star notes are greatly prized by collectors. This unusual example has the star printed at the end of the serial number B14919788 on the obverse, and the reverse is overprinted with the obverse design. The result is a replacement for an error note, printed with an error. PCGS has provided a grade of Very Fine 25 Apparent for this oddity, and the notation "Small Stain near Top Center" appears on the label, below the grade designation. Signatures are Bañuelos/Connally.
