Bag two presidents at once, with this 1830 nautical right of passage document dual-signed by Andrew Jackson, and Martin Van Buren. Sized at 10-1/2" x 15", this crisp, antique sailing document bears a raised seal at bottom-left. The majority of the text is printed and readily discernible, while the written entries are faded. As fortune would have it, the signatures of sitting President Jackson (d.1837), and Secretary of State Van Buren (d.1862) remain clearly recognizable. The part printed, part written date is legible, reading "the twenty first day of May in the year of our Lord thousand eight hundred and thirty". An undetermined countersignature is located at bottom-right, and the opposite side is addressed to Chas. H. Humbridge.
