Description

Recall a feat that may never be matched again, with this Ted Williams signed "The Last .400 Hitter" bat. It has been eighty-four years since Williams topped the lofty .400 mark, way back in 1941. Owning a batting average that rounded off to exactly .400, Williams was offered the opportunity to sit out a double-header on the final day of the 1941 season. True to his gutsy "go for it" nature, "Teddy Ballgame" opted to play, and went 6-for-8 on the day. His .406 average in 1941 is the highest recorded by any MLB player since 1924. It's unlikely any modern hitter concerned with launch angles, is going to threaten this status. Turned out by famous maker Hillerich & Bradsby, this Louisville Slugger Genuine Williams signature model bat reports in like-new state. Seen on the barrel, is the legend "Commemorating The Last .400 Hitter, .406 in 1941, Limited Edition 1985, 285 of 406". Williams has applied a beefy signature below all the barrel fanfare.
