Description

PSA Registry Collectors! Graded NM-MT+ 8.5 by PSA. Charlie "King Kong" Keller was a beast at the plate who played on four New York Yankees World Series championship teams. The prodigious slugger stars on this 1941 Play Ball #21 high-grade single. The pinstriped hero is accurately centered with untouched corners, creamy edges and "picture perfect" surface registration set against a vibrant two-color background setting. The reverse, which details the University of Maryland alum's exploits, is problem-free. Of the 326 total copies judged by the authenticator, this prewar classic survives as 1 of 3 at the grading level with only two better (top 1.5%). Part of a 1941 Play Ball PSA graded near set break available throughout this auction.
