Description

Milwaukee's favorite sons are represented with the offered pair of 1954 Johnston Cookies Milwaukee Braves uncut sheets. Each 18-card artifact measures nearly 12x12 and features 34/35 cards in the issue (missing Bobby Thomson SP) plus duplicates of both #19 J. Wilson and #21 Spahn. Despite varying degrees of surface creasing and additional handling impacting each card, the fronts are quite colorful with outstanding eye appeal and the biographical reverses are vibrant and clean. The reverse of the Pafko will show a tear which does not impair the front. The back of the non-Aaron sheet displays paper loss along the edge from Cooney through Sisti. Despite some imperfections, the pair remains extremely visually appealing. As displayed at the National Convention, various veteran dealers expressed they had never seen this series in uncut sheet form! A high-impact regional rookie card of #5 Henry (Hank) Aaron is front and center along with Hall of Famer #41 Eddie Mathews.

The size/weight of this item requires that there will be an additional shipping charge for this lot.
