Graded NM 7 by PSA. A fearsome Denton "Cy" Young is portrayed at the conclusion of his record-shattering career on the offered 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life blue back variation. With pitch-black eyes and a slight frown, the intense demeanor of the Cleveland Naps Hall of Fame pitcher is evident on this 115-year-old centerpiece. The 511-game winner's portrait is accurately centered and framed by virtually untouched corners, snow white edges and captivating surface colors. Of the 23 total copies of the player/back combination judged by PSA, this ageless relic survives as 1 of 2 at the grading level with a lone copy higher. Part of a larger 1910-1911 M116 Sporting Life near set available throughout this auction.
