Description

Known alternately as "Pete" and "Fats," NFL heavyweight Wilbur Henry takes the bidding field with this signed personal check. Henry was on the playing field with the Canton Bulldogs when the NFL was founded way back in 1920. A two-time NFL champion in 1922 and 1923, Henry enjoys the distinction of being elected to the first College Hall of Fame Class in 1951 and also the first NFL Hall of Fame Class in 1963. Dated July 25, 1950, this Citizens National Bank of Washington PA. check is made to Bell of Pennsylvania. Henry boldly signed this check with his given name, two years prior to his demise in 1952. At the time of his passing, Henry was still working as the athletic director for Washington and Jefferson College.
