A good amount of the groundwork towards completion has been laid with this 1938 R69 Gum Inc. Horrors of War partial set of 219/288. Depictions of gore, brutality and mayhem made this set a controversial release way back when. Nearly 90 years later, this blood-soaked set still resides at the top of want lists for many advanced collectors. The scenes and narratives relate the deadly events of the Spanish Civil War, the Second Sino-Japanese War, and the Second Italo-Ethiopian War, which were current events at the time of issue.
