Heir to the U.S. Presidency upon the assassination of William McKinley, Theodore Roosevelt was a dynamic leader active in traveling the globe. Providing attestation that men of Roosevelt’s ilk have long been the subject of autograph requests, this cut signature and accompanying correspondence are welcome additions to any high-end Chief Executive collection. Executed in black-ink fountain pen on a blank sheet of approximately 5-1/8 x 2-1/4”, Roosevelt’s penning projects (“9”) strength and clarity. Accompanying is a typewritten letter on Roosevelt’s post-presidency Metropolitan Magazine letterhead. Dated “October 24, 1917,” the letter conveys compliance with an autograph seeker in Wisconsin. Original envelope accompanies. LOA from John Reznikoff, University Archives. This item has a reserve (estimated value $500-$1000)
