Long before diffusing the Cold War in his capacity as U.S. President, Ronald Reagan entertained the masses as a Chicago Cubs announcer and screen actor with roles in “Knute Rockne: All-American,” “The Winning Team” and "Bedtime for Bonzo." It was in his acting career that the GOP icon signed this original contract. The three-page typewritten binding agreement is dated “January 2, 1952” and signed at the conclusion by (4) Artists’ Managers and Actors’ Guild principals, including Reagan (blue ballpoint, “8” strength). LOA from John Reznikoff, University Archives. This item has a reserve (estimated value $500-$1200)
