Lot Description  

Graded 20 Fair 1.5 by SGC. Bartolo Portuondo, Negro League star for squads such as Cuban Stars (East), Cuban Stars (West) and the Kansas City Monarchs is pictured in his home country on this 1923-24 Billken Type. The Cuban Hall of Fame infielder represents the Habana Club on this black-and-white specimen which displays wear consistent with the techical assessment. The Spanish text advertising reverse is problem-free. One of only eight confirmed examples of Portuondo judged by SGC.
