Performing at the age of 75 in the 1982 inaugural Cracker Jack Old-Timers Baseball Classic at RFK Stadium, Hall of Famer Luke Appling showed skills of old as he launched a 250-foot home run off of Warren Spahn. For an encore, Appling reported to the following year's installment and wore the offered ensemble. Includes:
Signed Cap a red wool accessory with "A" embroidered to the front center in white (to denote "American League"). The "New Era" size "7-3/8" pro model cap is autographed by Appling (d.1991) on the front of the bill in black marker ("8" strength).
Game-Worn Jacket a red nylon button-down jacket with a 3" rounded collar and a drawstring at the waistline. In white appliqué, "Rawlings" appears on the left breast and "AMERICAN" is arched atop the back. An event logo patch is sewn to the right breast.
Both items show appropriate single event wear. James Spence Authentications cert/hologram #E91624 (for autograph only).
