The first hurler to start the Mid-Summer Classic for both the American and National Leagues, former star southpaw Vida Blue also was the last Junior Circuit switch-hitter to be awarded the league MVP (A.L. pitchers batted back then). The offered equipment items were worn and signed by the oft-controversial right-hander during the latter portion of his stellar mound career: a pair of cleats from one of his two tours of duty (1978-1981 and 1985-1986) with the San Francisco Giants. The white leather size "11" footwear features orange striped patterns and "Adidas" manufacturer's trademarks on the heel and tongue of each. There are six metal cleats affixed to the thick plastic sole of each. In blue marker, Blue has signed the tongue and right side of each, with the (4) signatures ranging near ("7-8") strength and clarity. Additionally, Blue's number "14" is inscribed on the heel of each. The items exhibit outstanding game use with dirt caked about the cleats and a well-worn toe guard adhered to the left toe. James Spence Authentications cert/hologram #E91625 and #E91626 (for autographs only).
