A legend of the silent film era surfaces with this Norma Talmadge-signed sheet music. One of the great leading ladies of the 1910s-1920s, Talmadge (d.1957) reached her peak in the 1922 film Smilin' Through, her most noteworthy feature. Film buffs score a nice treasure with this Talmadge signed Smilin' Through sheet music. Billed as a "Souvenir Edition," this antique sheet music is printed with a 1919 copyright date, however this version was obviously printed c.1922 as the front bears the legend "Introduced in Joseph M. Schenck's Motion Picture Version of the Fantastic Play "Smilin' Through" featuring Norma Talmadge." Applied in pencil, just below the title, Talmadge's autograph rates a ("7"). Moderate overall wear attests to the genuine nature of this antique sheet music, which remains fairly solid and appealing. Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $25.
