Opposing manager John McGraw of the Giants ridiculed Connie Mack’s Athletics, “You'll never make any money. You've got a white elephant on your hands.” So, Manager Mack ran with it and made the white elephant the mascot of the Philadelphia Athletics. The elephant illustration dominates this 27-½ inch team pennant in Excellent condition with two pinholes. Some of the players featured with their last name and uniform number include: Brissie, Rosar, Suder, Fain, Majeski, Mack, McCosky, Coleman, DeMars, Joost, Valo, and Brucker (1948 only). Opening Bid $100.
