500 Home Run Club member, Gary Sheffield, used this bat with the Detroit Tigers in 2008. He had one more year with the New York Mets in 2009 before his retirement. This Gary Sheffield Professional Model bat, from the Original Maple Bat Company (SAM), is uncracked and exhibits evidence of excellent use. The lower handle and the top of the knob are wrapped with tape, and there is a light coat of pine tar. The length, weight, date of manufacture and order number are written on the top barrel in black ink. PSA/DNA has graded this bat (“GU 9.5”) and the bat has an attached hologram and accompanying LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA. Sheffield has signed the bat with the inscription “Game Used 2008” on the front barrel in silver marker (“8-9”). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph.
