Get seaworthy with this 5/68 Marvel Sub-Mariner #1 issue comic book. Rising from the depths of the ocean in 1939, Namor the Sub-Mariner helped put Timely Comics on the map during the war years. After the 1940s, the Atlantean royal went dormant for more than a decade with exception to brief revival in the mid-1950s. In 1962, Sub-Mariner resurfaced in an early Fantastic Four issue. He then shared space with Hulk in the Tales to Astonish series. In a 1968 Marvel Comics growth spurt, he began starring in his own title, and this is the first issue, of a 72-issue Bronze age solo run. Held by the original owner since 1968, this lovingly secluded comic is fresh back from grading submission with a CGC rating of (7.0, Off-White to White Pages). The grading label notes are "Roy Thomas story, John Buscema and Frank Giacoia art, John Buscema and Sol Brodsky cover. Story continued from Iron Man and Sub-Mariner #1. Origin of Sub-Mariner retold.
