Long before Bart Simpson and South Park made the scene, there were the The Katzenjammer Kids. Introduced in 1897, the Kids went through seven artists during their 110 years in print. Two of the artists are represented here, with these (3) 1947-1963 King Features Katzenjammer Kids comic strip production art boards, by Harold Knerr and Joe Musial. Knerr had the longest tenure of drawing up these mischievous boys, holding the job from 1914-1949, while Musial did the job from 1956-1977. Based on their size, these boards were obviously created for Sunday edition newspapers. All are sturdy and attractive, and editorial notations on the margins support their authentic nature.
