Pile up a Dagwood sandwich to fuel your chase for these (3) 1940-1957 King Features Blondie comic strip art boards. One of the most popular and enduring of all newspaper comic strips, Blondie grew such a large fan base that a lengthy parade of movies, a radio show, comic books, and related merchandise all enjoyed great success. What we have here is some of the source material for the Bumstead's antics by the strip's creator Chic Young. Drawn up for newspaper syndication, these production art boards are all 5-1/4" high, and range 13-3/4" to 20-1/2" in length. (2) Boards dating from 1940 and 1949 have overlays adhered at various points, and the 1940 board also has a square of the surface removed from the second panel. The third panel dates from 1957, and has several surface cuts that do not penetrate beyond a superficial level. All have editorial notations on the margins, all remain solid and appealing.

Opening Bid $250.
