Hockey buffs net a nice score with these (2) 11/29/50 Buffalo Bisons full tickets. An AHL franchise, the Bisons called Buffalo home from 1940-1970, at which point they were supplanted by the NHL Buffalo Sabres expansion team. In a game rescheduled from 11/26/50 to 11/29/50, the 1950 AHL East Division Champion Bisons outlasted the Indianapolis Capitals by a score of 8-5 at the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium.
Hockey tickets from this era are generally scarce, and the “Aud’s” capacity at the time was a little more than 10,000 seats for hockey games, so the supply of tickets from this game was always relatively small. The supply of surviving unused full tickets such as this pair, has to be miniscule.
PSA has recently encapsulated these superior single-owner tickets, with ice-shattering grades of (NM-MT 8, NM 7). The ticket rated NM-MT 8 holds the top spot on PSA’s Pop Report as “1 of 2” at this level with none higher; while the other ticket is "1 of 2" at the NM 7 level, with two higher. Though the date printed on the front of both tickets is actually "11/26/50," the PSA labels note "1950 Buffalo Bisons - AHL, Bisons-8, Capitals-5, Nov. 29, Rescheduled from Nov. 26."
Opening Bid $200.
