Hall of Fame backstop, Gary Carter, was the face of the franchise for the Expos, before going on to win a World Series with the Mets. He came back to Montreal for a fond farewell in his final year in baseball before his untimely death at 57.

 

This circa 1982-88 Montreal Expos cap, size 7 3/8 by New Era, has been attributed to Gary Carter as the number “8” is inked on the undervisor. Carter was traded to the Mets after the 1984 season. It has the MLB Official Licensee tag, the manufacturers label and the size label affixed to the inner rear of the sweat band. The cap has little outside wear put shows sweat stains on the sweatband. The size and manufacturer’s label are consistent with caps from the seasons mentioned, and it is accompanied by a meticulously researched Phil Wood LOA. Opening Bid $150.
