In the midst of a three-year consecutive run of World Series appearances, the Baltimore Orioles disassembled the Cincinnati Reds “Big Red Machine”, to be crowned 1970 champions. The O’s assistant public relations director Robert W. Brown was recognized for his contribution to the team with this 5-piece tea set. This silver-plated set comes with a massive 26x20 tray, edged with a high relief floral scroll. Engraved at center of an ornate pattern, is “World Champions Baltimore Orioles 1970 Robert W. Brown”. Completing this elegant set, are four vessels, with two tea pots, a sugar bowl, and a creamer pitcher. Three of these vessels are hallmarked with “Hand Chased Tradition Since 1893, E.P.C.A. Poole English Reproduction 600”. All 5 pieces remain attractive, with great detail integrity, though abundant toning is noted. Bob Brown was a member of the Baltimore Orioles' front office for 35 years. He was honored by his peers as the second winner of the Robert O. Fishel Award for Public Relations Excellence.
