Following his solid MLB career, Gene Woodling turned to coaching. As first base coach for the Baltimore Orioles he picked up a World Series ring in 1966, adding to the five rings he won with the Yankees from 1949-1953. While the Orioles were the reigning World Champions, Woodling wore this road jersey in 1967. As you would expect of a jersey worn by a coach, this gray flannel gamer retains great integrity with only light wear.

There's a couple of thread pulls between the still vibrant number "14" patches on the back, and light sweat staining is evident, particularly on the collar, inside and out. A tag sewn inside the collar reads "44 Set 2 67 14", for size, uniform set number, season, and uniform number. There's also a size "44" tag on the left-front tail, where a Spalding factory label, and a cleaning instructions tag also reside, The front "Baltimore" and number patches also remain vibrant, as do the "Woodling" letters patches on the back.

The accompanying LOA notes the tail on the back has been shortened several inches, likely at the request of Woodling. The LOA also states that there are no signs of this handsome jersey having been repurposed for minor league use and "There likely aren't many cleaner examples of this style, despite the tailoring". Phil Wood LOA.

Opening Bid $250.
