Rare postcard featuring a game-in-action scene from the outfield of the Des Moines Base Ball Park in Des Moines, Iowa. Dating to circa 1922, the postcard advertises an exhibition game between the local Des Moines club and the Cleveland Indians, led by Hall of Famer manager Tris Speaker. An illustrated portrait of Speaker adorns the reverse to the left of the major league club's lineup. The postcard, which is the first of its kind that we have ever seen, has been graded GOOD+ 2.5 by SGC. It presents as Very Good to Excellent overall but has been downgraded due to light touches of wear at the corners and two small pencil notations on the reverse.
