Way back when the American League was young, Connie Mack assembled some fine teams. In the first decade and a half of AL play, Mack's Philadelphia Athletics won 6 pennants, and 3 World Series. Served up is a circa 1905 Athletics team photo postcard. Encapsulated by SGC with a grade of (GD+ 2.5), this antique postcard is an unused plain background type, with clean surfaces front and back. The "Mackmen" captured their second AL pennant in 1905, earning their first trip to the World Series, as there was no World Series when they won their first pennant in 1902. The biggest reason for the A's great success in 1905 was a three-headed pitching beast comprised of Hall of Famers "Rube" Waddell, "Chief" Bender, and "Gettysburg Eddie" Plank who are all seen in this nicely preserved real photo postcard.
