Anytime you see a puck smack a goaltender in the face, give a little nod to Jacques Plante up in hockey heaven. A groundbreaking netminder, Plante (d.1986) is credited for multiple innovations at his position including being the first NHL goalie to wear a mask on a regular basis. A fixture in front of the net for the Montreal Canadiens from 1953-1963, Plante was brought out of retirement by the St. Louis Blues in 1968 and made his way to the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1970. From his first of three productive seasons with the Maple Leafs comes this Plante-signed real photo postcard. Plante has applied an ("8") strength autograph to this team-issued card, along with a personalization. Encapsulated by PSA/DNA with an (AUTHENTIC) designation.
