With the Chicago Bulls second “three-peat” of the 1990s on the line, living legend Michael Jordan took command of the game, to score the winning buckets in a come-from-behind effort. The occasion was the Game 6 clincher of the 1998 NBA Finals, with the Bulls facing the Utah Jazz on June 14th, at the Delta Center. With 42 seconds to play, and the Bulls down by 3 points, coach Phil Jackson called time. The inbound pass went to Jordan, who drained a deuce over multiple Jazz defenders. Utah got the ball to their best player, Karl Malone, who was facing off with Dennis Rodman. Jordan came around and stole the ball right out of Malone’s hands. Byron Russell was in Jordan’s way as he dribbled down court to the top of the key. Jordan went right, crossed over left, and allegedly pushed off Russell, to hit another two-pointer, that proved to be the game winner.



For his remarkable efforts, Jordan was named the Finals MVP, and the Bulls had their historic second championship three-peat. This was also the last game in a Chicago Bulls uniform for “His Airness."
