If you were designing a mold for the catcher position, Ivan Rodriguez would be your ideal model. The all-time leader in hits by a catcher, and most games caught, "Pudge" was a perennial All-Star and 13X Gold Glove winner with the highest career caught-stealing percentage (46%). Rodriguez's great durability enabled him to play 21 MLB seasons between six different clubs. From his 2004-2008 tenure with the Detroit Tigers comes this autographed game-used bat. A Louisville Slugger model R226, this 34" long, two-tone bat is free of cracks, and shows abundant signs of authentic use including contact marks, bat rack streaks, and light traces of gripping agent residue. His uniform number "7" is written on both the knob, and barrel end, and the first ballot Hall of Famer has signed in silver on the barrel with ("8.5") strength. Also written on the knob is the bat's weight ("30.9"). Auction LOA from James Spence/JSA for the autograph, no authentication for game-use.
