By his own admission, John Kruk was not an athlete. He even published a book in 1994, titled I Ain’t an Athlete, Lady. What the somewhat roundish first baseman-outfielder was, was a hitting machine with an apparent fondness for round numbers. “Krukker” finished his 10-year MLB career batting .300 on the button, with 100 home runs, in exactly 1,200 games played. A rising star with the San Diego Padres from 1986-1989, Kruk got some portion of his 1,170 career knocks with this game-used bat. A Louisville Slugger R161 model, this vintage gamer may even have seen some action during Kruk’s 1986 NL Rookie of the Year campaign, when he made a great first impression, batting .309. Assigned a grade of PSA/DNA GU 8, this signature model bat has a facsimile of Kruk’s autograph on the barrel, and shows significant signs of authentic use, including contact marks, baseball black ink transfers, red bat rack marks, pine tar residue, and a handle crack. Kruk’s uniform number “8” is written on both the barrel end and the knob. Full LOA from John Taube-PSA/DNA.

Opening Bid $150.
