It's been forty years since umpire Chris Pelekoudas took the farewell train to the "Field of Dreams" in 1984. During his career making calls in the National League from 1960-1975, Pelekoudas had the opportunity to work some big games including the World Series in 1966 and 1972. From Pelekoudas' first time officiating baseball's main stage even, comes this autographed 1966 World Series game-ready baseball. Pelekoudas has signed ("7") on the west panel of this period ONL/Giles ball (EX-MT) and he has included the personalization "To Wes Idol Best Wishes" and the inscription "1966 World Series." At the time, Idol was running the famous Los Angeles steakhouse, the Pacific Dining Car. Scores for all four games of the 1966 Fall Classic are recorded on the ball's north and south panels. Very few examples of Pelekoudas' autograph on a baseball were discovered during research, indicating signed balls are pretty tough to find. No authentication is offered for this autograph due to the lack of exemplars.
