3 World Series rings, 2 MVP awards, and a fine .582 winning percentage as a player-manager, add up to a heck of a career for Mickey Cochrane. A spirited player with strong leadership qualities, the elite level backstop got MVP votes in 10 of his 13 MLB seasons. Tragically, Cochrane succumbed to illness at the age of 59, in 1962. His long ago departure makes his autograph a tough acquisition, and the offered single-signed baseball moves the needle to full-on rare status. Stamped "Chicago White Sox" on the reverse sweet spot, this vintage ball remains attractive, with moderate toning, and a few stray marks near the labeling stamp. Cochrane's signature is a pleasing ("7") strength example, located on the preferred sweet spot. Full LOA from James Spence/JSA. Opening Bid $750.
